Welcome to the ninth Star Wars ComLINKS! The purpose of this link up is to inspire fans to write/talk about various topics (which are assigned each month) pertaining to our favorite fandom. Each link up will take place on the second Wednesday of every month. You will be able to share a link to your Website, Blog, YouTube, Podcast, etc. on a widget below and also view other posts from fans.
The Topic for May is "Your Star Wars Day" and begins today through May 25th!
What did you do to celebrate May the 4th? What did you wear? Did you celebrate alone or with family/friends? What special deals did you hit up, if any? Show us what new items you've added to your Star Wars collection! Whether you went out or opted for a cozy night in watching your favorite of the films or cartoons, we all want to hear about and see the different ways you took part in one of the best days of the year!
1) Your Website, Blog, YouTube, Podcast, etc. does NOT have to be SW related.
2) Your entry must be family-friendly.
3) Please include a link to (or mention) "Star Wars ComLINKS" in your entry and don't forget to use the hashtag #starwarscomlinks when applicable!
I had the best Star Wars Day yet! I woke up and got ready to go meet my mom and sister at one of our favorite malls while listening to The Force Awakens soundtrack. Proudly rocking our fandom, we hit up the Disney Store first and were lucky enough to be one of the first 50 people to make a purchase and receive the Boba Fett pin! My mom picked up the new Battle Worn Boba Fett Tsum Tsum and I got the new Elite Series Boba Fett Prototype (no longer available). I don't actually collect these figures but there was just something special about this one that influenced me to purchase it. I've recently become fascinated with all white figures, so maybe that's why. Oh, and we might have left the Disney Store with some coloring pages from the children's coloring table. Heh.
Next, we went to Gamestop because, duh. I had to get the new Love and Madness Crawl Wrap bracelet! Each store only received a couple of these according to the lovely Jedi and Princess Leia who helped me. The original design is made of genuine leather with gold plates and costs $50. However, through this collaboration, L&M was able to offer a non-leather bracelet with base metal for $30. You can still order it online here. Since I don't wear leather, this option was perfect for me. It's comfortable to wear and obviously very fashion-forward.
Hot Topic was also on our agenda and we all freaked out over the Her Universe stuff which was beautifully set up at the front entrance. My sister got the BB-8 Bracelet Set and my mom left with the Her Universe TFA Raglan Top (currently unavailable on the Hot Topic and Her Universe websites).
We finally visited BoxLunch and it quite honestly has become one of our new favorite places to shop! If pop culture themed products are your thing, you should definitely check this place out! I absolutely love that for every $10 you spend, they'll provide a meal to someone in need through Feeding America. We were mesmerized over their wall of Funko Pops and left with a few things (not Star Wars related) including a BB-8 pin my sister bought.
After grabbing lunch, we ended the day sat on the couch with some of our favorite plush friends and watched Star Wars Rebels. Because my mom and sister still haven't yet finished Season 2. I know, we're working on it!
When my husband got home from a long day at work, we celebrated together by continuing our re-watch of The Clone Wars. We're currently in Season 2. It's so good watching it again though my heart is hurting every time Anakin and Ahsoka have a moment. Which is basically every episode so I'm pretty much doomed.
Finally, I shared my latest Star Wars OOTD here on the blog! I would love for you to take a look if you haven't yet!
Tell me, how did YOU celebrate?
