Style Wars is an original quarterly series that is a combination of both Jenmarie and Savanna's two favorite passions - Star Wars and fashion. Together they will be styling Star Wars outfits based off of the same fashion piece. Their mission for this fashion series is to show off how different fangirls envision outfitting Star Wars clothes in their own unique way. Instead of comparing who wore it best, they want to celebrate the different ways Star Wars pieces can be worn.
With the recent release of The Last Jedi Savanna and I knew that we wanted this month's Style Wars to feature a fashion piece based on one of the characters from the new movie. We unanimously chose Rose Tico after eyeing the new Her Universe jacket which resembles the jumpsuits both Rose and her sister Paige wear. As far as outer wear goes it's the perfect piece to have in your closet as it's made of very light-weight 100% Cotton so it's great for layering. I also love this jacket because it has multiple pockets, a drawstring waistband tie and a hood! This jacket is still available on the Hot Topic and Box Lunch websites and in stores.
Be sure to visit Savanna's blog, The Dorky Diva, to see even more photos from our shoot and learn more about what she wore!
WHAT I WORE
Rose Tico Jacket by Her Universe: Hot Topic
Super Stretch Jegging: American Eagle
Boots: Forever 21
Turtle Neck: Target
Millennium Falcon Necklace: Kohl's
Beanie: Harvester Products
Heart Cutout Backpack by Loungefly: Hot Topic
Rey Keychain by Funko: Smuggler's Bounty
I knew it was going to be a chilly morning when we shot this so I styled my jacket in a very Winter-esque fashion by wearing extra warm pieces including a turtle neck and beanie whereas Savanna styled hers for more of an every-day look with a romper and tights. That's just how versatile this jacket can be! It's also great because it's one of those subtle pieces that only Star Wars fans are going to recognize, especially if you're wearing a Millennium Falcon necklace. It's not very often that I dress "Light Side" but it felt good to be part of the Resistance for the day!
Please let Savanna and I both know what you think of our outfits in a comment below or on Twitter and stay tuned for our next Style Wars in April! In the mean time, remember to check or blogs regularly as we will continue to provide our own style-centered posts as well.
As always, I will share "Outfit Outtakes" from time to time on my social media pages and exclusive photos on my Patreon page. Be on the look out!
That is a great outfit. It looks so comfortable to wear.
