Over the weekend I was given the opportunity to cover Nerdbot-Con at the Pasadena Convention Center in California. This was their third year putting on their pop culture convention but my first time attending. The convention was on the smaller side but it was literally packed full of excited individuals who were enjoying the vendors, panels, live music and creative cosplays. I walked the floors throughout the day to find my favorite Star Wars cosplays and fan creations to share with you!
(Jedi Master Thad Revan & General Leia (Rebel Legion))
(Manda'galaar Clan (Los Angeles Chapter))
I personally think that the highlight of the event was spotting all of the talented cosplayers. It was especially fun to be on the second level of the convention and looking down over the railings to see which new cosplayers were showing up as the day went on. Fans young and old took part in representing their favorite characters. There were also some creative mash-ups like the Beauty and the Beast Rebel Pilots seen above. It's difficult to pick a favorite but I'd probably have to go with the Sandtrooper as I have a soft spot for Troopers. I actually heard there was a Trooper and walked the floors until I found him! Supposedly there was also a large Porg present but I couldn't find him.
This gorgeous laser work by The Art of Dave was one of my favorite tables at the convention. Each piece comes with a stand so that you can properly display it among your collection. Dave also makes super cool Chromadepth 3D art that you should definitely check out. There's a few Star Wars pieces as well!
I'm not a fan of anything remotely close to Horror but these Star Wars creations definitely stood out to me, especially Vader! And we thought Vader was menacing without the Blood and Teeth touch. If this style suits your fancy be sure to check out even more of Mr. Dusts's and DeathDealerCa's artwork and sculptures on their website.
Anna of +3 to Charisma specializes in table top gaming pieces and geeky jewelry. She also creates 3D low poly figures which would be a great piece to add to your desk at work or home. The Stormtrooper figures glow in the dark too! Give her a visit to browse the various collections and let Anna know I sent you.
William O'Neill of Gentleman Nerd creates unique pop culture artwork. His style is edgy and vibrant and I couldn't help but notice it as I walked by his table. He has a collection called "Split Personalities" where he features the same actor, take Harrison Ford for example, in two different roles side by side. I love this concept! Be sure to give him a visit.
I hope you enjoyed the photos I captured of the awesome Star Wars cosplays and fan creations. I will be writing up a separate post with many other photos on Boba Fett Fan Club soon so keep an eye out!
This looks so fun! And what terrific cosplays. The Beauty and the Beast x Star Wars crossover is pretty epic!
