Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Oga's Cantina Review | Anakin and His Angel

Jason and I finally made a reservation for Oga's Cantina last weekend. We had a great time trying out a couple of the items on the menu while listening to the upbeat tracks provided by DJ R3X. He's a spunky little dude! Continue reading to learn more about how to visit Oga's and for my overall thoughts on our experience.

If you're interested in going to Oga's Cantina you must have a reservation. You can do this by going to the Disneyland app and typing Oga's Cantina in the search bar or on the Disneyland website (please note that at least one member of your party must be at least 14 years old). You will be asked how many people will accompany your party, the date and time you wish to visit along with your credit card information to confirm your reservation. Eventually you'll be able to book 60 days in advanced but for now the furthest you can book out is 14 days. If you can't find the time that you currently want, extra time slots are added at 7:00 am pst each morning so be sure to set your alarm and check back! Also, you can now cancel your reservation if need be the day prior to your reservation date. Cancelling the day of will result in a fee of $10 per person.

It is very important that you arrive on time to your reservation as there is limited space inside. It is actually suggested that you get there 15 minutes prior to your reservation. Once you're in line you'll be greeted by a Cast Member who will look up your reservation and hand you a confirmation card. When you've made your way to the front of the line you will then hand that card to the next Cast Member before they take you to your seat. However, please know that you might not actually get to sit down. You'll find that most of the guests inside will be standing at cocktail tables or around the bar area. There are booths inside but not many. Jason and I were lucky to be at a booth but because seating is limited, we shared it with two other groups. It was somewhat of a strange feeling at first but we were able to enjoy the time there together. It wasn't that we weren't wanting to being friendly but we were actually on a "date". I found that the groups at our table seemed interested in keeping to themselves anyways.

The atmosphere inside was just what I hoped it'd be! There's some interesting odds and ends to look at and everything is just as detailed as the rest of Batuu but most of my focus was on DJ R3X. It was my absolute favorite when his head was bopping to the catchy tunes he was playing. I couldn't help but move along with him! We were there for 45 minutes, which is the allotted time guests can stay, and not once did I hear the music repeat itself. I also didn't find the music to be too loud. It's quieter than the Scum & Villainy Cantina in Los Angeles which thankfully meant I didn't have to shout to have a conversation.

There didn't seem to be too many waiters or waitresses inside so be prepared to wait a little to have your order taken and brought to you. Have patience as these Cast Members are constantly on their feet and running around trying to serve everyone and get things cleaned up. Our table actually had the mess from previous guests and it stayed that way until our order arrived. It didn't bother us as it wasn't in the way but I can understand how it would bother some to not have a clean table upon your arrival. Our waitress did her best to stay on top of things and even gave me extra collectible coasters on our way out! I was really happy as I was definitely wanting to collect the full set. There are 5 of them in total and you can see them all here.

There are both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available at Oga's Cantina with a two drink maximum per person. I don't drink so I was pleasantly surprised to have a decent variety of options. I chose the Bantha Milk with the vanilla-butter sugar cookie. I'm obsessed with the Blue Milk at the Milk stand and definitely was curious about the cookie! My drink was surprisingly on the runnier side, much like it appears in A New Hope. I soon realized the consistency was supposed to be different from the one I normally get at the Milk Stand which is similar to a slushie. It tasted the same and I drank it all but I definitely prefer the thicker consistency. As for the cookie, I really liked it! It wasn't exactly on the soft side but the flavor was really unique. I definitely tasted a bit of coconut which was a pleasant delight. I may have been thinking of this cookie since! This yummy drink and cookie combo costs $13.00. Jason ordered the Cliff Dweller which comes in a collectible Porg mug. It's way cuter in person and is actually quite heavy! The drink itself is made up of citrus juices, coconut hibiscus-grenadine, and ginger ale. We both thought it was delicious! The mug and drink combined is $32.00 and you will be given a brand new mug in a box before you leave.

The Oga's Cantina page clearly states that Annual Passholder discounts are accepted (except on novelty items) however I didn't realize until after we had left that the discount was not applied to our purchases. Be sure to double check before you pay!

Depending on the time of day that you go to Oga's, the menu changes and there are actually a limited amount of snacks and foods available. You can see the menus for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner here.

Drinks are not allowed to be taken outside of Oga's Cantina.

Despite the messy table and mistake on our receipt, I personally had a good time and would definitely go back. Jason enjoyed his time as well though he did mention that he thinks it would be nice to have some other form of entertainment as well. He actually went in expecting that there was going to be some kind of show involved with DJ R3X. It's actually not a bad idea! I myself would like to see some Alien creatures roaming about which would give the Cantina even more of an authentic feel.

I would also like to add that even though there is a two drink maximum per person I have read from a few people that they got drunk just from two drinks alone. It appears they're not holding back with the alcohol! I did not witness any drunk guests but this personally makes me feel like the rule of at least one person being 14 years old in a party should be raised to the age of 18.
