Star Wars: The Ultimate Pop-Up Galaxy Review

When the publishing company Insight Editions reached out to me offering to send over a handful of new Star Wars titles, I didn't hesitate to accept. My favorite of the bunch is the newly released Star Wars: The Ultimate Pop-Up Galaxy book which is even more remarkable than I expected it would be. I haven't owned a pop-up book since I was a child so this has been a real treat for me and a reminder of how much fun they are! Looking and reading through this gorgeous book by Author and Paper Engineer Matthew Reinhart with stunning art by Kevin M. Wilson filled me with so much joy as I watched some of my favorite scenes from the Star Wars Saga come to life in a unique way.

The experience of diving into this book has given me a new-found love for pop-up books. It's so incredibly detailed! There are five large spreads, twenty-four pop-ups and several interactive tabs. I actually missed a few things the first time I looked through it because that's just how much there is to see. This a book that you'll want to sit down and take some time to read and play through each of the pages. You'll also want to take a good look from all angles because there are many exciting surprises!

One of my favorite aspects about Star Wars: The Ultimate Pop-Up Galaxy is the fact that it really pays homage to the entirety of the Star Wars Saga leading up to The Rise of Skywalker. You'll find content from the Prequels, the Original Trilogy, the Sequels and even Rogue One and Solo! I was also shocked but excited when I discovered the Ghost from Star Wars Rebels. My heart always feel happy when any of the animated features are included.

Another amazing feature about this title is that the book opens up to a displayable 3D diorama of the entire Saga. I know. Crazy, right? This is, without a doubt, a very special collector's item and one that is great to enjoy yourself or with family and friends. My husband and I had a great time pointing out characters we spotted and discovering new tabs to pull and watch iconic scenes come to life.

It is without a doubt that this book would make any Star Wars fan absolutely thrilled to have it in their collection! I can also only imagine how much a child would enjoy it seeing as how much it brightened my day. I would suggest adult supervision if a young child is looking through the book to make sure they turn the pages carefully and don't pull on the tabs too hard. Star Wars: The Ultimate Pop-Up Galaxy is available now and you can purchase it on Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Target!
