The IDW Publishing team kindly provided me with an advanced copy of Star Wars Adventures #1, a relaunch of the comic series written with young readers in mind. Each issue will feature two stories that take place during different time periods in the Star Wars Galaxy.
The first story entitled The Obstacle Course: Part 1 is set between the events of The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker. Finn and Poe organize a Jedi training adventure for Rey and her pal BB-8 but things don't quite go how anyone expected them to. It's a fun and lighthearted story filled with extraordinary alien species including a Palliduvan Pirate (any Aurra Sing fans out there?). I enjoyed it and really appreciated the familiar banter between the Sequel Trilogy duo.

Invasion of Echo Base is the title of the second story in a series that will be focused on my favorite Star Wars character, Darth Vader. This one is set during The Empire Strikes Back. If you ever wondered what the Battle at Echo Base looked like in Darth Vader's eyes, prepare to be amazed! It was most definitely my favorite of the two stories. I could not get enough of the incredible and at times, chilling artwork! Although this story is primarily centered on Vader, I think fans will appreciate seeing glimpses of several other very familiar faces as well.
Star Wars Adventures #1 is written and illustrated by Michael Moreci, Nick Brokenshire, Ilias Kyriazis, & Francesco Francavilla. It will be available tomorrow, October 7th, both digitally and at your local comic shops.
