Last week, my sweet husband Jason took the day off and we went to Downtown Disney! There's been a lot going on and we just felt like taking a break and spending some quality time together outside of our home. It was really nice to be in the area again and even though I shed some tears, most of my emotions were feelings of joy. I loved being around familiar shops, the treats and smells, and the Disney music was wonderful to listen to! Overall, our time there was perfect so I thought I'd share with you some information and tips from our own experience and lots of photos to follow, including what I wore for the day!
DOWNTOWN DISNEY INFO & TIPS
1) Before visiting, be sure to read through the Important Downtown Disney Reopening Guidelines on the Disneyland website. A lot of things have changed and this will help you to be better prepared for your trip! I recommend arriving by 10am, when Downtown Disney opens. The temperature and bag checks were a breeze - we walked straight in without any lines! This was our first trip back since it re-opened. I've heard that weekdays are much less crowded and that's when we went (it was a Monday to be exact).
2) As soon as we walked in, we headed to the Star Wars Trading Post. There was no line so we were able to walk right in. We spent a decent amount of time inside and then left just before 10:30 to go eat at La Brea Bakery Café. The night before I had checked for reservations but they were completely booked. However, they do accept walk-ins so we wanted to be sure to get there prior to opening. There were two lines. One for guests with reservations and another for guests without. Once you're brought inside, you'll make your order at the register and then go to a table of your choosing where your waiter will promptly bring your food. It was an outdoor area with lots of shade, perfect for a warmer day! I was very much in the moment so I completely forgot to photograph our dishes. We've been there several times before and have always loved the food and service! They have a variety of different options including soups, salads, sandwiches and even brunch menu. I highly recommend it!
3) After eating, we went to the World of Disney store. The line looked long but it was constantly moving and we ended up making it inside relatively quickly. I'd say that inside this store was the most crowded area of Downtown Disney though people still kept their distance. Jason and I felt comfortable inside but I know there's some people who probably would've preferred there to be less people. There was SO much new mercandise to look at and the Christmas decor added to the magic of the shopping experience. I loved it so much!
4) All of the CMs were super welcoming, kind and helpful. Remember to return the kindness and say "Thank you".
5) Everything was well organized with social distancing guidelines. There are signs everywhere to help guests, so make sure you're aware of them and read them. There are also washing stations set up, assigned seating around the planters, etc. Disney has really gone above and beyond to make sure they're keeping their guests safe.
Having a little bit of Galaxy's Edge to immerse myself in felt good. The shop was adequately decorated, they had a lot of stock, and I was super impressed with the way they had the legacy lightsabers on display. It was much easier to look at them compared to Dok Ondar's Den of Antiquities and they had them displayed on both ends of the store. I didn't take photos of everything there, just some of the things that stood out to me and a couple of the newer items that recently made their way there. Overall, it was a nice shop filled with just the right amount of merchandise to satisfy fans who've been, and to give those who haven't stepped foot on Batuu the chance at taking a piece of it home.
I got this beautiful Daisy Ridley t-shirt from SuperYakiStuff.com and was saving it to wear somewhere special. It's a unisex style, 100% cotton and comes in sizes S-3XL. You can also opt to order it is a sweatshirt! I am wearing the size small t-shirt and love it! I paired the t-shirt with jeans, my Rey boots from Po-Zu, a metallic moto jacket and my COACH bag with an adorable AT-AT keychain dangling from the strap. I felt cute and comfortable even though the weather severely messed with my hair that day. Whatcha gonna do?

Like I described earlier, the World of Disney store was an absolute dream! It's always been my favorite shop at Downtown Disney and it feels extra special when it's decorated for Christmas. I literally gasped upon entering and witnessing all of the decorations. It's fun seeing it in photos but it's just different in person. You can feel the Disney magic all around you! We spent forever inside and almost forgot just how enormous the store is. We were completely exhausted by the end of it! I snapped some photos of items that caught my eye including new merchandise both Star Wars and Disney related that I hope you enjoy. I was doing my best to be both in the moment and a blogger, so I missed prices on some things. I also didn't take pictures of what we purchased but we did pick up the grumpy Donald Duck Wishable plushie and a new blind box of Alice in Wonderland pins. I'll be showcasing them in an Instagram Reel soon if you're interested!
