On Sunday, October 15th at the Lucasfilm Publishing Panel during New York Comic Con, the very first High Republic legacy lightsaber was revealed! The Stellan Gios legacy lightsaber comes in a collectible wooden box, and is limited to 5,000 pieces globally. It will be available this Fall on the shopDisney website as well as at Dok Ondar's Den of Antiquities at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
I think it's really cool that we're seeing this era of Star Wars get more recognition. I have never read any of the High Republic books myself, but I do own the Art book, and I even created my own Jedi character inspired by the High Republic a few years ago. I am obsessed with the costume designs and lightsabers. They're so exquisite!
Kylo Ren's hilt is the only other crossguard legacy lightsaber Disney has made, and it's priced at $179.99. Since Stellan's hilt comes in a boxed set, I don't think it'll come with a blade (none of the other boxed sets have). I'm guessing that it'll cost around $300. The last boxed set was Cal Kestis' double-bladed legacy lightsaber which was limited to 7,500 pieces and priced at $400. If it did come with a blade, I would hope it'd be one of the new brighter blades which was first introduced just recently with the re-released Ahsoka Tano Rebels legacy lightsabers.
My friends over at Fantha Tracks shared a video of the lightsaber. It shows the hilt in more detail and what it looks like being ignited. While I think the overall design is amazing, it looks like there are a lot of plastic pieces, which I'm not usually a fan of on the legacy lightsabers. I could be wrong but hopefully I'll have a chance to see it in person! Either way, I'm planning to sit this one out to allow someone else who loves the High Republic the chance to obtain it.

DeleteI believe that this is the first legacy lightsaber based on a character from a book, isn’t it? Gives me hope that they might one day offer Mara Jade’s lightsaber! :)
