Just days ago, it was revealed that The Stranger's Legacy Lightsaber will be released on the Disney Store website on Life Day, November 17th at 8am PT. Though it hasn't been announced, I'm confident this new hilt will also be available at Dok Ondar's at Galaxy's Edge at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World the same day. Let's hope I'm right!
The LE (3,000) Stranger Legacy Lightsaber set is currently available to order on the Australian website where more information and photos (above) are available. Let’s talk about it!
The good news? It splits in two like we all hoped. The seemingly bad news? Once detached, one of the hilts appears unfinished unless there was a sleeve or end cap that wasn’t photographed for some reason. Other than that, I think it looks fantastic!
It is listed for AU$ 504.90 which is $329.42 in US dollars.
• Includes certificate with the edition number.
• Includes lightsaber blades (31'' and 17'' - New blade length!).
• Includes display stand (some assembly required).
• Custom blades have special programming unique to The Stranger hilts.
• Includes two USB-A to USB-C cables (2 x 650MAH Li-Ion rechargeable batteries included).
• Comes in protective case that is designed to resemble weathered metal.
What do you think? Are you sold on the newest legacy lightsaber? Does the unfinished looking hilt bother you? /END UPDATE
After Master Sol's Legacy Lightsaber was released earlier this year for Star Wars Day, May the 4th, the first lightsaber available from The Acolyte, I had a good feeling that we'd see more hilt designs featured from the show. And why not? There were several unique designs belonging to equally unique characters. It took a while, but I'm thankful they didn't get overlooked.
The Stranger, a fan-favorite character, uses a hilt that is simplistic in appearance, but it splits in two at the lower section of the hilt revealing a shoto-length blade. I'm curious to see if Disney was able to incorporate that feature or if it'll be sold as a single hilt. From what I can tell, the design looks pretty spot on, though I don't see the d-ring attached at the bottom of the pommel as it appears in The Acolyte Visual Dictionary shown above. Maybe it's tucked into the base of the display stand? I'm expecting his hilt to have some weight to it, especially since we know it's a thick-handled lightsaber. I also can't wait to hear what it sounds like!
The wording on the listing does say "Limited Edition Set", meaning it could come in a specialized box, which also raises the price. Keep in mind, most legacy lightsabers that have been available in a LE set are often sold without the box later. Of course, there's always the risk that may not happen. This is just something to keep in mind!
In case you missed it, a new Loth-cat, which is the next item in the Galactic Archive Series, will also be released online and at the parks on the same day. You can learn more about the Loth-cat here. If you'd like to support me, you can use my referral link to do your shopping. Happy collecting!
