The official Star Wars website just announced that Kathleen Kennedy is stepping down from her role as President of Lucasfilm to return to producing full-time.
“Dave Filoni will take on creative leadership of the company as President and Chief Creative Officer and Lynwen Brennan will serve as Co-President.
We’ve been so fortunate to have Kathleen Kennedy at the helm during these last almost fourteen years. From projects like Andor, The Force Awakens, and the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, she has truly blessed us with memorable Star Wars stories with characters I couldn’t imagine the saga without. I’m so glad she’ll continue to produce! Some of her current projects include The Mandalorian and Grogu, and Star Wars: Starfighter. If you’ve never looked at Kennedy’s IMDB profile, you should. It’s absolutely so impressive how many iconic films she’s been a part of.
I am very happy that Dave Filoni, who has been with Lucasfilm since 2005, is the new President and CCO, and I think George Lucas would be too (if you didn’t know, they worked very closely together on The Clone Wars)! I adore Dave’s passion for the franchise and his extraordinary storytelling abilities. I love everything he’s been a part of in Star Wars.
Lynwen Brennan has been with Lucasfilm since 1999 and has had multiple roles with her most recent being President & General Manager of Lucasfilm Business since 2024.

I have been so fortunate to learn from George Lucas, Kathy Kennedy and Alan Bergman and have unwavering faith in Dave’s creative vision for the next chapter in this storied studio’s legacy.
