Batuu Adventure Buddies are the newest cuddly interactive friends that will be available at the Droid Depot at Galaxy’s Edge beginning August 13th. Here’s everything you need to know, thanks to the Disney Parks Blog.
Collection: The Ewok Buddy is the first of three interactive toys. Who do you think the others will be? I want one of them to be a Wampa.
Release Dates: The Ewok Buddy will be available at the Droid Depot at Disneyland on August 13th. The two other buddies will arrive at a later date, along with a full collection debut at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
What Does It Do?: The new toys have been crafted by a scrappy crew of Anzellan manufacturers. The Ewok Buddy has expressive eyes, motorized facial expressions, and it can giggle, laugh, and chatter! If you pat its head or belly, it will also respond with various animations. Three quick consecutive head taps will activate the Endor Dance Party, while double-tapping its belly near other toys will activate a Forest Call Chain.
Gear Packs: If you’d like to outfit and accessorize your Ewok Buddy, there will be 3 Gear Packs available: Endor, Mandalore, and Batuu. The Endor Gear comes with a spear, horn, grilled fish, and a poncho. The Mandalore Gear comes with a Mythosaur axe, nummies (I am dead!), Beskar chest armor, and a shoulder cape. And finally, the Batuu Gear comes with a YT-1300 freighter model, all-kit tool, a Ronto Wrap (OMG! So cute!), and a poncho.
Gear Pack Interactions: Yep, it’s true. The food, toys, and tools interact with the Ewok Buddy’s left hand by triggering animations, sounds, and reactions. This is such a great feature!
The Experience: Like activating your very own droid, there will also be an activation experience with your new Batuu Adventure Buddy where you’ll bring it to life for the first time. No reservations are needed at Disneyland, but you’ll want to check on reservation dates for Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
