I was recently a guest on one of my favorite Star Wars Podcasts, Galactic Fashion and I briefly talked about menswear and how we aren't really seeing as many exciting Star Wars fashions for men as we are for women. My hope is that we will soon see companies make more of an effort to provide males with the chance to display their love of the franchise the way they'd like to. In the mean time, I've done some researching and discovered some pieces you might be interested in! I did my best to include different styles to accommodate various tastes, and age groups. Let me know what you think, which are your favorites, and perhaps I'll put together another Star Wars Menswear post for you in the future!
Nixon partnered with Star Wars last year and designed creative, modern, and minimalistic Star Wars accessories, and gear for men. They created seven different backpacks centered around some of our favorite iconic characters that range between $75 and $175. One of my favorites is their Jedi Backpack ($75). It's made of 600D Polyester, coated and non-coated canvas, along with some leather detailing. The backpack has many organizational features including a padded laptop compartment, and a media port access. My favorite thing about this backpack is the neon green zipper pouch which reflects a Jedi's most prized possession; his lightsaber.
You can find all of their backpacks on the Nixon website. These would be perfect to bring along with you to an amusement park, con, school, or even on a hike!
It was recently brought to my attention (thanks to MakingStarWars.net) that Hexder makes spot-on Star Wars character jackets for men (and women, if you're interested). One of my favorites is the Han Solo Jacket from The Force Awakens (currently on sale for $129, regularly priced at $229) which is available in sizes X-small - XXXL. It's made of synthetic leather, lined with a rayon fabric, and has five pockets; 3 on the outside and 2 on the inside. A black jacket is a staple piece to have in your wardrobe and can be paired with almost anything!
I'd also recommend the Han Solo Vest which is a great transitional piece that you could wear throughout the year, and the Finn Jacket if you favor brown over black.
Hexder has very good reviews and a 30 day money back guarantee!
If you're in the market for a new tie, Nordstrom has a good portion of silk Star Wars ties all for $55. Is your personal style on the softer or louder side? Either way, there are options for both parties! The Stormtrooper Tie has a much more subtle print while the TIE Fighter Tie is much bolder.
Be sure to visit the Nordstrom website to view the rest of their ties and keep an eye out for Star Wars themed tie bars, and cufflinks as well!
Having a bad hair day or just need to keep cool? This Star Wars hat is the answer! The Force Awakens logo is embroidered on the hat, which is a sign of good quality! The flat peak may appear to be more youthful looking to some of you, but again, I wanted to include various styles for all ages! You can find it on the ASOS website for $27.11.
As for the shoes, who wouldn't want to sport these? Skechers has several men's Star Wars shoes available including graphic sneakers. These Chewbacca inspired high tops ($80) are partially made of soft suede, and textured fabric with faux fur lining, and a memory foam insole for extra comfort! *Wookiee Roar*
Visit ASOS and Skechers for more Star Wars attire!
So many of my male friends have been asking for awesome Rey t-shirts. The truth is, there aren't many out there. But this number at Target has a pretty cool design and is 100% cotton. Is it the best Rey shirt ever? No. But I think it will suffice for now, especially for only $12.99 (or $14.99 if you need the Big & Tall size).
As for other graphic t-shirts, ASOS had a few that I haven't seen before by a brand called Jack & Jones. This 100% cotton Death Star T-Shirt while pricey ($42.36), is probably one of the better graphic tees I've seen. The print is awesome and I love the monochromatic theme. It would look great with either light or dark denim jeans worn alone or under a blazer or zip-up sweatshirt, depending on the occasion. This item is currently low in stock but is normally available in sizes XS - XL.
The Force Awakens Characters T-Shirt at Hot Topic is another great option (and again, 100% cotton!). I've seen this one in person and it's beautiful! The character placement is a little questionable, but when looking at it as a whole, it's quite striking and artistic. It is available in sizes XXS - 3X ranging in price from $20.50 - $24.50.
I first saw the Nixon for Star Wars watches in a Tilly's magazine before the holidays. Each of the designs are so unique and represent some of the most popular Star Wars characters. I personally think this line of watches are some of the best Star Wars fashion pieces out there for men right now and I would highly suggest browsing all the different options on the Nixon website. Each watch comes with a limited 2 year warranty and features incredible specs that I recommend reading through.
The Boba Fett Watch is $175 and features the Mandolorian insignia on the side along with Boba Fett's kill stripe. Han Solo in Carbonite is said to be seen on the backside of this watch though there are no photos, but what a creative added detail!
The Darth Vader Watch is $275 and has a custom brass dial embossed with the Imperial logo, and an obvious red second hand to represent the dark lord's lightsaber.
Again, be sure to browse the watches on the Nixon website. You'll find a Jedi-inspired watch, and some other light side characters including C-3PO and R2-D2!
