Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Opening Day Vlog

Galaxy's Edge Opening Day Vlog | Anakin and His Angel

On Friday, May 31st my husband, Jason, and I were at Galaxy's Edge for opening day. It was an amazing and often overwhelming experience but I can honestly tell you that both of us are extremely anxious to set foot on Batuu once again this weekend! I have a lot to share with you including tons of photos and reviews in multiple upcoming blog posts but for now please enjoy this 40 minute vlog of our adventures on Batuu. If you have any questions at all please feel free to leave them in a comment below!

  1. First of all, even though you only slept 4 hours, your make-up is on point. Beautiful! #MakeUpGoals

I really appreciated how honest you were about your Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge visit. For a Star Wars enthusiast, I can imagine how a four hour reservation window could be hard. When my friend and I visited, we went to Oga's Cantina first, and did everything else afterwards. It worked out for us: Despite a 25 minute wait, we were able to enjoy the atmosphere and beverages in the Cantina -- personally, I'd recommend the Jedi Mind Trick. Very floral and refreshing. Also, the coasters are a fun, free collectible. :)

I totally agree with Jason about Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run. The interactivity really pulled me away from what was going on on screen, and I felt like I was missing out on the attraction, even though I was there the whole time. I've been fortunate enough to ride a few times and have each job, and the position with the best balance of interactivity and enjoyment is probably pilot. If you board as a Single Rider, I'd ask another in your group and see if they'd like to trade pilot for whichever assigned position you have. :)

I haven't experienced building a lightsaber at Savi's Workshop, but I believe it requires reservations. I really enjoyed seeing the merchandise you purchased at the end of your video -- in particular, your Tauntaun is adorable! Have you come up with a name for him yet?

I really enjoy your blog. Please keep up the great work! :)

    1. Thank you so much! An hour before our time slot I had to sit down for a good while because I felt absolutely horrible from such little sleep. But I think the adrenaline from being at Galaxy's Edge really helped me to get through the day!

It seems like you were able to do a lot on your trip, that's so great! Our plan is definitely to head to Savi's first and then the Cantina. And I cannot wait to go and get those coasters! They're so cool!

Thank you for reading and sharing your experiences! So glad you enjoyed the video :)
