Style Wars is an original quarterly series that is a combination of both Jenmarie and Mollie's two favorite passions - Star Wars and fashion. Together they will be styling Star Wars outfits based off of the same fashion piece. Their mission for this series is to show off how different fangirls envision outfitting Star Wars clothes in their own unique way. Instead of comparing who wore it best, they want to celebrate the different ways Star Wars pieces can be worn.
Mollie Damon of Star Wars Explained and I are back from our little break but I'm sure you'll find that it was worth the wait! In this new installment of Style Wars, we chose the brilliantly designed Tano Long-Sleeve Shirt by Daniel Kennedy for Her Universe which debuted at Star Wars Celebration Chicago earlier this year. According to Ashley Eckstein herself, no other fashion piece has sold as quickly as this one has from any other line! The shirt has already been re-stocked twice and there are plans for another so be sure to follow Her Universe on all of their social media platforms for updates.
WHAT JENMARIE WORE:
Tano Shirt: Her Universe
Wild Fable Skirt: Target
Open Toe Pumps: Target
Ahsoka Pin: Black Series Rebels
Clutch: Old Navy (Similar)
Ahsoka Tano is one of my favorite characters so there was no question on whether or not I would purchase this shirt. I needed it in my closet! I love the bright but simplistic design and how comfortable it is to wear. I would definitely suggest sticking to your usual size as it does run a bit big. I'm wearing an XS and it's actually quite long on me (I even have to roll the sleeves up when I wear it). But I honestly think with a bit of tucking in, the oversized look works really well! My aim in styling this outfit was to show you how this top can be worn during the Summer. I paired it with a distressed black denim skirt and black open toe pumps and honestly felt ready to take on Maul! As for accessories, I kept them quite simple. I wore an Ahsoka Tano silhouette pin by my friends over at Black Series Rebels on my skirt and opted for a white perforated clutch. This is easily an outfit I would wear multiple times!
Oh, and if you're wondering about my little plush friend Morai, my friend Nancy picked her up from SWCC for me and mailed her my way. She asked to be part of this photoshoot and I couldn't say no.
WHAT MOLLIE WORE:
Tano Shirt: Her Universe
Wild Fable Shorts: Target
Jedi Necklace: Amazon
Star Wars Adidas: Poshmark
Getting my hands on this shirt ended up being way more difficult than I expected! When I saw that this shirt (designed my my friend Daniel Kennedy) was going to debut at Star Wars Celebration Chicago, I KNEW I had to get one! My size sold out the same day it was released so I had to wait for it to re-stock online. While we were out of town on vacation, Jenmarie was SO sweet to keep an eye out and snagged one for me online when they finally re-stocked and mailed it to me! I love the design and how it fits loose enough to be comfortable but you can also tie the back or tuck it in for a more fitted look.
I wanted to do some sort of makeup look featuring the colors of the shirt so I applied a wash of bright orange shadow on the lid, white on the inner corner and blue liner on my bottom lash line with a bit of a graphic line to give it more of an Ahsoka vibe.
I paired the shirt with white jean shorts, a Jedi emblem necklace with a small rhinestone and a pair of orange limited edition Star Wars Adidas sneakers - the whole look matched head to toe!
