The Empire Strikes Back has always been my favorite film of the Old Trilogy. I love the flirtatiousness and romance between Han Solo and Princess Leia, the strong presence of the Dark Side, and the cliff hanger ending where the "bad guys" actually won. I never expected that! Though, I will say, I feel lucky that I got to watch these movies back to back by the time I saw them. I can't imagine waiting three years to find out what happened next after a conclusion like that!
Not long into the film, we were introduced to many iconic entities that truly made the planet Hoth even more exciting. Imperial Probe Droids, Taun Tauns, a vicious Wampa, Snowspeeders, Snowtroopers, AT-STs, and one of my all time favorites - the AT-ATs! I decided I wanted to celebrate TESB's 40th anniversary by getting bundled up, as if I were traveling to Hoth, and grabbing a couple of my treasured collectibles including a Taun Taun from the Creature Stall at Galaxy's Edge and the new Hoth mug from the shopDisney website. I never thought I would own a Taun Taun plush the size of a Build-A-Bear but I'm so happy that it's a Star Wars item that exists. It's poseable and even makes movie-accurate sounds! As for the mug, it captures so much of what I love about Hoth. I think Starbucks did a great job collaborating with Disney on this item. I hope they continue this line of Star Wars planet-themed mugs (they've also made ones for Bespin and Dagobah, in case you didn't know).
