Star Wars OOTD: Self Rescuing Princess

 | Anakin and His Angel

Today would've been Carrie Fisher's 64th Birthday. It's still so hard for me to believe that she's gone, especially after witnessing her beautiful and pivotal role in The Rise of Skywalker. It truly feels like she is still with us. Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker so eloquently says in The Last Jedi, "No one's ever really gone.", a quote that has become quite comforting among fans, and today is the perfect today to reflect on it. Princess Leia was the first character from Star Wars that I wanted to dress up as when I was a child and the first figure (who remembers Bend-Ems?) that I acquired at the start of my collecting journey. She, like Carrie, will always have a special place in my heart. Today, I want to celebrate the memory of Carrie, our Princess and General by sharing this royal-esque look.

When The Colorful Geek gifted me this super cute t-shirt that reads "Self Rescuing Princess", I knew I wanted to style it in an unexpected and fancy way. I found this pink tiered sequin designer skirt that was originally $130.00 for $15 on the Nordstrom Rack website, which I still can't quite believe. I was so pleased with how well it complimented the t-shirt! A few black accessories and a coordinating hair-clip, and I was all set. I truly felt like a Princess wearing this outfit and even though I had no where to go, it didn't matter. You don't need a reason to be dressed up or to wear your favorite pieces for no reason at all.

I'm wearing the t-shirt in a Women's/Junior's fit in a size X-Small. This same design is featured in a unisex styled t-shirt, a tote bag and a mug. You can shop the different merchandise options here and use my code: "ANAKINANDHISANGEL" for 15% off of your entire purchase (no purchase minimum required).
