Yesterday, Monday December 14th, through this Thursday, December 17th, a unique shopping experience featuring two new Galaxy's Edge legacy lightsabers (Ahsoka Tano - TCW, and Count Dooku) and other collectible items is taking place at a pop-up shop where the ESPN Zone used to be at Downtown Disney. There is no word on whether or not any of these items will be available to purchase at the Star Wars Trading Post or on the shopDisney website after Thursday. We never did see any of the items featured at the last Galaxy's Edge pop-up shop become available anywhere so I'm not sure what to expect at this point.
Update:: The Her Universe pins are now available to purchse outside of the pop-up shop for $15.99 each on the shopDisney website.
My reservation was for 3:00pm. I arrived just after 2:30. There was no line and the shop was fairly empty. I walked up to a CM to ask if when my reservation time approached, if I needed to form a line or if I could just walk right in. They quickly checked my reservation and kindly let me in early since it wasn't busy. This was a quick trip for me but Downtown Disney didn't seem to be crowded at all. Parking was a breeze and I walked right into the shopping center!
As for the pop-up shop, it's set up concert-style, meaning all of the merchanise is placed against the walls with Cast Members ready to assist you with whatever products you'd like to take a look at. It's a spacious room with multiple registers to ensure that guests are getting through quickly. Only a certain amount of people are allowed to enter at a time to maintain social distancing. If you're interested in checking it out, you'll need to make a reservation to shop. A reservation is required for each guest in your party. Items are limited to two per guest. Annual Passholder discounts are accepted on all of the items except for the hilts!
The Ahsoka Tano hilts are $199.99 ($215.49 with tax). They are surprisingly very light. Each one has a special color-changing feature which can easily be done by pressing and holding the button opposite side of the ignition switch for five seconds. It's a stunning transition! The blade colors change from blue to green. There isn't one that is yellow like in The Clone Wars. The shoto (smaller hilt) is about 9 1/2" long and the longer hilt is about 11" long. The hilts are simple but so lovely. Pictured above I am using the 26" blade and the 31" blade but for a screen accurate look, you can swap the 31" blade for the 36". I just wanted to test it out to see how it looked.
Count Dooku's hilt is $129.99 ($140.06 with tax). If you're familiar with the weightiness of Kylo Ren's hilt, Dooku's is almost as heavy as his. The hilt is about 14" long with quite the dramatic curve. Overall, it's very elegant with unique features and textures. There are rubber gribs which makes it fairly easy to hold onto as well.
There are three different sized blades available to purchase including the two that are typically available at Dok Ondar's (36" and 26") as well as the 31" which you could previously only purchase if you were building a custom lightsaber at Savi's Workshop. The 36" and 31" inch are both $49.99 and the 26" inch is $44.99. If you purchase all three, you get $60 off (plus your Annual Passholder discount) which is a killer deal! The CM informed me that most fans were purchasing the 31" and 26" for Ahsoka's blade so I bought those as well as an extra of the larger size for the screen accurate look.
Please note: These legacy lightsabers are not designed for combat. You can clash them together lightly but I personally wouldn't suggest anything more than that. They are more of a collectible item.
I picked up a couple of the new Limited Release Her Universe pins. If you're familiar with the brand, you'll know that both of these designs have been used on their products. All of the pins that are available to purchase are $15.99 each. These two were my favorites of the bunch!
Some of the other items that they had included a Dianoga figurine ($39.99), the new Darth Vader and Yoda Kyber Crystals ($14.99 each), and a Star Wars Holiday Santa Hat ($29.99) which I did not see there. I'm not sure if it just wasn't displayed at the booth I was at or if they were sold out for the day. This was the surprise item so there is no photo of it on the reservation page.
