Star Wars Bound: Padmé Amidala (Tatooine)

Star Wars Bound: Padmé Amidala (Tatooine) | Anakin and His Angel

I never imagined that Disney would make the beautiful cape that Padmé Amidala wears to Tatooine in Attack of the Clones, but here we are! It always warms my heart whenever AOTC is represented in some way. I am so thankful to my friends Ash & Bryan for picking this exclusive piece up for me while they were on the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser! This is the children's version. I opted to get this one so that I could wear it to Batuu. The adult sized cape is floor length, and Disney doesn't allow floor length pieces to be worn to the parks. You can read through their dress and costume guidelines here.

I debuted my newest Padmé bound at WonderCon this weekend. It was so comfortable and fun to wear! The cape, or "capelette" I should say, is such a luxurious piece. The velour fabric has a burn out pattern that really is so eye-catching, no wonder it was in Padme's wardrobe! I would recommend sewing down the brooches before wearing it out anywhere. About halfway through the day, I noticed that the end of one of the brooches came undone, so it was just sort of hanging there. I then discovered it was only being held with a thin piece of thread. I'm just glad that it's something that can be fixed!

When I'm styling a bound, I don't always choose to find pieces that match exactly what the character wore but I do like to have at least a couple of pieces that Star Wars fans would recognize instantly. I found a skirt that very much resembles the one that she wore, but I decided to keep the top much more simple. I also opted to wear my hair down rather than in the intriquite buns she sported. You'll notice that I accessorized with the Japor Snippet necklace that Anakin gifted Padmé. It's not something she wears in AOTC, but it's something that I thought complemented the outfit nicely. And of course, I couldn't pass up using my new Anakin Skywalker Loungefly backpack. It just made sense! You can find links to several of the pieces I'm wearing below!

  1. I love seeing more Padme being represented. I grew up with the prequels, so I'm all for more prequel stuff.
