Star Wars Bound: Padmé Amidala Funeral Gown

Today is my blog, Anakin and his Angel's, 24th anniversary! As each year goes by, I'm so grateful to still be here sharing my passion for Star Wars with all of you! Star Wars brings me so much joy. Whether you've been a long-time follower or recently found this corner of the galaxy, I appreciate you and your support. This community is amazing!

To celebrate, I styled a new Padmé Amidala bound. It's not exactly the most joyful outfit as it is her funeral gown, but I've always loved how beautiful she looked during this scene in my favorite Star Wars Prequel movie, Revenge of the Sith.

I accidentally found the dress at T.J. Maxx earlier this year for $10. I love the shimmery fabric! The ruffled sleeveless duster was also a lucky find at Urban Outfitters. I love the texture and drama it adds when layered over the dress. For accessories, I wore Padme’s Japor Snippet necklace from Dok Ondar’s Den of Antiquities at Galaxy’s Edge and a beautiful floral headband from Forever 21. Normally, I’d link everything I’m wearing, but sadly nothing is available.

In the blog's early days, I created a lot of fanart. I knew I wanted to go back to my roots and create some artsy pieces with the photos my husband took. I really love the way they turned out! I know that some of them are a bit dark and dramatic. Hopefully, I haven’t hurt too many hearts!

As an extra throwback, I’ve also included a small screenshot (it’s all I have) of what my blog looked liked in 2007. The layout was hand-coded and I created the graphics. I also had to include a magazine clipping from many years ago. My blog was named one of the Top Star Wars websites on the internet by an Australian magazine called Big Hit. I’ll always be proud of that enormous honor.
Tell me, how long have you been here? What do you think of the new bound and the way I edited the photos? My friend Drew who helped me remove the light reflection from Vader’s eyes said, “It definitely felt like something I’d repost on Tumblr.”, and I could not be more proud!
