It's been several months since the D23 Expo in Anaheim, but I didn't want these outfits I styled for the weekend to disappear from the social media world; they needed a home! I hope that they inspire you.
Please note that this is a photo-heavy post!
I've styled many Ahsoka looks, but I wanted to do something very different than what I've ever done before. Last year, I found these Ahsoka Tano Hair Clips by BioWorld from BoxLunch and hadn't worn them yet. I mostly styled this ensemble around the clips and my Ahsoka Tano top from Dok Ondar's Den of Antiquities. I acessorized with a black maxi skirt, a textured belt by Madewell that I found at T.J.Maxx earlier this year, silver arm bands, and my black Po-Zu boots. Of course, I used one of my favorite Loungefly Mini Backpacks, the 332nd Clone Trooper! I picked this piece up at the D23 Expo in 2022. This isn't something that Ahsoka wears but rather it's inspired by something that she might have worn as an adult. This was my favorite look of the weekend, especially since I got to see my friend Ashley Eckstein (voice of Ahsoka Tano) at the end of the day!
The inspiration behind this Princess Leia bound was if she had continued her path as a Jedi. Though I forgot my lightsaber (I know, not very Jedi-ish), I think the ensemble gave Leia vibes. The Bespin Cloak is from Her Universe, which was part of their May the 4th collection this year. I adore this piece and love the embroidery! The dress is a piece I originally purchased for my High Republic bound a few years ago. For accessories, I wore a gold necklace from Banana Republic which I thought was similar to the silver one she wears in A New Hope, a couple of gold bobby pins, and some brown sandals. I would've preferred to wear beige or tan boots, but I didn't own a pair yet. Overall, I was happy with how chic and regal this bound turned out to be. And yes, that's Doug Chiang in the last photo. It was incredible getting to chat with him about the Skeleton Crew. He said, "It's a good one! It's not a kids movie.".
For the last day of the D23 Expo, I wore a new Obi-Wan Kenobi Retro Dress c/o Her Universe. What I like about this piece is that the simple but elegant design could also be styled for other Jedi looks including Rey and Luke! It also has super roomy pockets! Since I was taking photos for the brand, I opted for minimal accessories to ensure the dress was in the spotlight. I paired it with the same brown sandals I wore on Saturday and a simple silver necklace. It's a lovely piece that I'm excited to wear again. For reference, I'm 5'2" and wearing an XS.
Thanks to my friend Ash for helping me with my Leia and Obi-Wan photos, and to Disneyd23 for hosting me at the D23 Expo. #D23Creators
