I am not one who often writes down dreams and goals, but I did this year, and I am ecstatic about what 2025 could look like! I wrote down five dreams and goals as a Star Wars content creator, so I thought I'd share them with you today. I realize this is very different from the usual content that I share here on the blog, but hopefully, this will be something you enjoy reading through, and maybe you'll even be inspired by it!
Last October I began thinking seriously about several Star Wars actors I'd like to interview for my blog. I was so excited about the idea that I already started up a document with questions that I think are unique and will spark interest. I believe this will be something new and engaging for Anakin and His Angel readers to enjoy. I hope to kick this off very soon, as I already have a few actors in mind.
Around the time of when The Acolyte was released, I started losing followers on Instagram. I was a fan of the series, so I was creating content centered around the story and its characters. But even after the series concluded, my Instagram account hasn't seen much growth, which I know is partially due to the algorithm and reach changes. Now, I'm not here because of followers. I've been creating Star Wars content for almost 25 years! It's just something I'd like to achieve, and I'd like to continue to grow on that platform. I want to find more people who genuinely love Star Wars and who choose to spend their time celebrating it, like I do!
I started getting back into blogging a little more often during the last half of 2024, and I'd like to continue that this year. My friend Isabella has talked about the importance of having a more permanent space to host your content and created StarGrl Magazine. It spoke to me because Anakin and His Angel didn't start on social media. It began as a website on November 21st, 2000, which I turned into a blog many years later and eventually created social media accounts for. I've made way too many social media posts with content I've curated and worked hard on that have never been featured here. So, I want to make an effort to blog more, especially because trying to reference a Star Wars bound I styled or relive a memory I only shared on my social media channels is like trying to find a dianoga in a garbage chute.
I cannot wait to see what happens next in Andor Season 2, and I'm super stoked to witness the moment when Cassian Andor and K-2SO meet. There is nothing like watching Star Wars on the big screen. It feels so magical, and it's one of my favorite things! I also love to create themed bounds for these events. I've been truly blessed to have been invited to multiple Star Wars premieres in the last few years, so even if this doesn't happen, I will always be grateful for those experiences. I never thought that Star Wars and Disney would recognize me. It means the whole galaxy to me! I can't thank you all enough for the support you've shown me over the years that has helped me to get to where I am today.
I consistently make videos for my social media channels, but YouTube videos have always been more difficult for me to do. I think part of it is because the videos are typically longer. It can feel challenging and intimidating. I usually post Star Wars trailer reaction videos and I sometimes share hauls or lightsaber reviews, but I haven't done that in a long time. However, I want 2025 to be the year I return to YouTube! I have ideas, and I know it'll take some practice and getting used to, but I'd like to utilize the platform while finding a good balance so it doesn't take away from my blog or other social media channels. In the end, if it doesn't end up being my thing, I'll stick with what I'm already doing. I'm never going to do anything that I'm not passionate about. But, you know what? "I've got a GOOD feeling about this!"
