We have a date! Star Wars: Maul - Shadow Lord, starring Sam Witwer (the voice of Maul), premieres on Disney+ with two episodes on April 6th, ending with the finale on May 4th, Star Wars Day. If you didn't have plans already, now you do!
There are ten episodes total, meaning two episodes will air every Monday, which is a new schedule for a Star Wars series. I'm looking forward to it, although I expect it to go by in a blink of an eye. The best of times always do!
Along with the release date, a menacing poster was revealed (pictured above), and an official teaser trailer also dropped. As expected, the animation is phenomenal, and the music is beautiful! It looks like an intriguing story with riveting lightsaber action, which I'm a huge fan of. I've watched the trailer about a dozen times already. Speaking of which, you can watch my reaction to the teaser trailer here if you're interested.
Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord picks up after the events of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, for a pulpy adventure that finds Maul plotting to rebuild his criminal syndicate on a planet untouched by the Empire. There, he crosses paths with a disillusioned young Jedi Padawan who may just be the apprentice he is seeking to aid him in his relentless pursuit for revenge.

Maul taking on Ezra Bridger as his a Padawan in Star Wars Rebels was such a crazy concept. I'm curious to see how it will play out for him this time and how much he'll feel the pressure of the Emperor wanting him dead, as we learned in the teaser trailer.
Executive Producer, Matt Michnovetz describes this series as “super fast-paced action-packed thrill ride series” in a new article on the official Star Wars website. You'll want to give it a read if you're interested in learning more about the series, including new and returning characters featured in the trailer. I'm most excited that Vanessa Marshall is returning to voice Rook Kas, a Mandalorian warrior who led the Shadow Collective's super commandos during the Clone Wars. I also reported on some new details last month, which you can find here.
