Many of you probably know that watching A New Hope was how I was introduced to Star Wars. Needless to say, I instantly became a fan! However, at only 13 years old when The Phantom Menace hit theaters, I felt like I grew up with the Prequels and that my connection to the franchise grew deeper. It inspired me to decorate my room in a Star Wars theme, it inspired my blog, and made my collecting journey that much more serious.
I’ve just been reminiscing about that time since watching Maul – Shadow Lord last night. Honestly, who would’ve thought that 27 years later, Maul would be getting his own show!? I love how we are constantly surprised by Star Wars! This series is a gift to Prequels fans.
I thought the story flowed beautifully, the new characters were unique, and the action was everything I wanted it to be. I can’t wait to see more lightsabers, especially after witnessing how terrifyingly cool Maul’s lightsaber was.
I’m thankful that we’re getting two episodes a week, especially if they’re on the shorter side. Although the series will go by quickly with the final two episodes airing on May 4th, I think it’s going to be an epic viewing experience!
I don’t want to give anything away since it’s only been a day, but I encourage you to watch it if you haven’t yet. There might be something that strikes your interest! I truly didn’t want it to end, and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about a couple of polar opposite droids since.
