Star Wars: The Experience

From February 13 to September 6, 2027, Star Wars fans can celebrate 50 years of Star Wars with Star Wars: The Experience, an 18,000 square ft museum exhibition of immersive environments, iconic props, and original costumes from the Star Wars films and series at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Proceeding its initial run, the exhibit will also go on a 5–year North American Tour!

The Franklin Institute Members-only presale will start October 2026. Tickets for the public go on sale November 2026.


GENERAL INFO

Created by The Franklin Institute, in collaboration with MDSX, Lucasfilm and Disney Consumer Products, it is the largest and most comprehensive behind-the-scenes exhibition celebrating the Star Wars galaxy, and an official exhibition during the landmark anniversary year.

The exhibition spans 18,000 square feet of visually rich, interconnected galleries, featuring large immersive moments, screen-used artifacts, and an RFID-powered experience for an interactive, personalized, and cinematic journey into the creative force behind Star Wars.

WHAT TO EXPECT

StarWars.com revealed that fans can expect to see pieces like Darth Maul’s lightsaber hilt, Darth Vader’s armor, a full-sized speeder bike, original props from Andor, and even Grogu, R2-D2 and C-3PO!


SDCC PANEL

Ashley Eckstein (voice of Ahsoka Tano) will moderate The Making of Star Wars: The Experience panel at San Diego Comic Con on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 4PM-5PM in Room 7AB.

There, fans will learn more about the making of the exhibit and get a look at the first gallery renderings from Matt Martin, Sr. Creative Executive of Franchise Content and Strategy at Lucasfilm; Portia Fontes, Manager of Physical Assets at Lucasfilm; Abby Bysshe, Chief Experience and Strategy Officer at The Franklin Institute; Dan Picard, Creative Officer and Owner of MDSX; and Dave Edmonds, Art Director at MDSX.
