OH. MY. GOSH.
StarWars.com just announced the second Anthology film will be released on May 25th, 2018 and will be about our favorite scoundrel in the galaxy, Han Solo! It will be directed by Christopher Miller and Phil Lord (The Lego Movie) and the screenplay will be written by Lawrence (Raiders of the Lost Ark) and Jon Kasdan.
"The story focuses on how young Han Solo became the smuggler, thief, and scoundrel whom Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi first encountered in the cantina at Mos Eisley. "
I am wondering if the story will touch on what we have been told in The Art of Revenge of the Sith book where Iain McGaig writes...
"It's not in the script anymore, but we were told that Han Solo was on Kahsyyyk and that he was being raised by Chewbacca. He's such a persnickety guy later on - he always has to have the best of everything - so I thought it'd be great if when he was a kid, he was an absolute slob."
Also noted in the book under a diary entry for January 10-24, 2003...
"Lucas asks for a conference room on Kashyyk - and a costume for a young Han Solo, who is slated to meet Yoda on this planet and actually help him to locate General Grievous. His one and only costume and character style (seen above) are approved as soon as they're presented."
I can't wait to see how his story plays out!
