Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - What I Bought on Opening Day

Galaxy's Edge: Merchandise & What I Bought on Opening Day | Anakin and His Angel

Even if you're not a collector, much of the merchandise at Galaxy's Edge are items fans have never seen before. There's no way you will leave Batuu empty handed! You can find the smallest things from pins starting at $9.99 to paintings for $395. There is literally something that will cater to every single Star Wars fan there. One thing to keep in mind while shopping is that when I was there on opening day, only one of each type of item was allowed to be purchased. I don't know how long this will be in effect but I think it will help to prevent people from buying items just to sell them online. Let's take a look at everything I purchased from Batuu and some of the other merchandise that caught my eye, shall we?

The first place I stopped to pick something up was Toydarian Toymaker which is in the Market. This shop gives me major The Phantom Menace vibes with the way it is set up. It's a small open area with no doors but lots of people trying to squeeze in to see what hand-crafted items they can find. I appreciate the authenticity of creating a market-like atmosphere but browsing for anything in this particular area of Batuu is difficult with the amount of people there are and the tight shopping areas. Still, I was able to look at almost everything and I picked up an adorable Ahsoka Tano and Watto plushies!

The Ahsoka doll was $19.99 ($17.99 with my 20% off Annual Passholder discount) and Watto was $17.99 ($14.39 with my AP discount). Each of them appear as if they were made lovingly in a home with various fabrics and stitching. They're soft and have just a slighty squishy feel. There are many more plush friends to choose from and I'm sure new styles will be available in the future! Besides these plush dolls, there are many toys and collectibles made from wood, as well as instruments, games and more! Oh, and don't forget to look up while you're inside. There's a lot to see including a creative rendition of the Falcon being chased by TIE Fighters through an asteroid field. I loved this nod to The Empire Strikes Back!

The Creature Stall is another exciting experience which is located in the Market. Besides a wide selection of pets to adopt and toys to play with, there are really amazing animatronics to observe. My favorite was the Lothcat which I desperately wanted to hug. I wasn't able to get any more photos of the pets inside however, I did catch some of them on my Galaxy's Edge: Opening Day Vlog if you're interested.

I knew before entering this shop that I wanted to purchased the Taun Taun. I didn't give him a name yet but I'm working on it! He is about thirteen inches tall and sits all on his own. He is poseable, soft and makes sounds both on his own and when you stroke his back. The noises he makes sound just like in the movie! It's basically like the Star Wars version of Build-a-Bear! The Taun Taun is priced at $39.99 however, with my 20% off Annual Passholder discount he came out to $31.99. Not too bad!

The Jewels of Bith is another trinket shop filled with fun collectibles inside the Market. I picked up Han Solo's dice, something I've wanted to own since seeing Solo: A Star Wars Story. They were only $12.99 ($10.39 with my AP discount). They are beautifully designed and quite weighty. I can't wait to display it! You can catch more of the inside of this shop in this video!

Over in the First Order Cargo shop located at Black Spire Outpost my husband, Jason, and I found several things that we liked. This particular shop is much larger than any of the ones inside the Market which made browsing a little easier. Once again, you can see more of the items featured in this shop in this video!

We drink a lot of tea and Jason loves coffee. We have quite the collection of mugs at home and have always enjoyed adding to it. Jason spotted this Stormtrooper styled mug specifically for his office at work. It was $22.99 ($18.39 with my AP discount). Inside the rim reads, Black Spire Outpost on one side and Stormtrooper Division 709 on the other. It's really a heavy duty mug and Jason really likes the unique handle.

Jason also picked out an AT-ST Die-Cast Vehicle for $14.99 ($12.00 with my AP discount). It's well made and the head turns which is a fun little feature for displaying. This shop also had many First Order pins. I instantly grabbed this pin of Kylo Ren that says Supreme Leader. How could I pass this up? The pin was $9.99 ($7.99 with my AP discount).

I was really happy to find the Galaxy's Edge reusable tote bags on Batuu as I forgot to look for them while in Disneyland. They had them available at multiple shops throughout Galaxy's Edge. The bag is black and white with a double sided print. They were only $1.50 each and were not eligible for the AP discount.

Also at the Black Spire Outpost is Dok-Ondar's Den of Antiquities. This is the largest shop in all of Batuu and probably my second favorite after Toydarian Toymaker. You can find everything here from legacy lightsabers to jewelry worn by our favorite characters like Princess Leia and Padmé Amidala. Trust me when I say that there is a lot to look at here. The photos I included above don't even cover half of the amount of merchandise to purchase or the props and decorations. There are easter eggs everywhere in this shop and it's fun to look up and see what you can find while in line or if you're just browsing.

As soon as I saw the Jappor Snippet necklace, I picked it up. Especially because there were only two left at the time! I really like the long silver chain used on this necklace. I feel it gives it more of a modern vibe rather than the black cord we see in the movie. Surprisingly, it was only $19.99 ($15.99 with my AP discount). This was the least expensive of all the jewelry that was available to purchase.

The Resistance Supply shop is part of the Market but on the opposite end of where the rest of the shops are (located at the entrance nearest the Hungry Bear Restaurant). There are two stands filled with Resistance merchandise. We were on our way out when we got a quick glance at what was available so I wasn't able to get too many photos. There's a nice selection of items including helmets, clothing, magnets, and more! This General Leia magnet (which I believe was $9.99) really stood out to me.

On my post, Galaxy's Edge: My Experience on Opening Day, I talked about how Disneyland had new merchandise in celebration of the opening day of Galaxy's Edge throughout the park. I went to Star Trader and picked up two t-shirts that were exclusive to Annual Passholders for $34.99 each ($27.99 with my 20% off Annual Passholder discount). Jason's t-shirt is a navy blue with the Millennium Falcon and the opening date, which I think is so special. Mine is a V-neck and also displays the Falcon with the opening year. Both shirts are very comfortable and also have Annual Passholder written on the sleeves.

I wanted something with the opening date for myself so I got the limited release pin. It was $15.99 ($12.80 with my AP discount). It's a beautiful pin and it reminds me of when I first saw the Falcon on Batuu. What a moment!
