Star Wars at the Funko Hollywood Store

My husband Jason took me to visit the store of my dreams last weekend and we had a blast! Funko Hollywood, the 40,000 square foot Funko Store, opened in Hollywood, California on November 18, 2019. If you're a Funko collector and a Star Wars fan, you'll absolutely love this place. I will be sharing a lot of photos from the Star Wars section of the shop so if you don't wish to be spoiled, stop scrolling now!

Funko Hollywood is without a doubt, one of the most organized, spacious and clean stores I've ever been in. They carry both new and old Funko items featuring merchandise from the Star Wars, Disney, Marvel, Harry Potter films and more! Each license has it's own space with unique photo ops and theme music tailored to each section which made the experience all the more immersive. I kind of felt like I was at Disneyland! I felt so happy being there and I gasped more times than I could count. Upon entering, you'll receive a map of the store with price points printed on the backside of the pamphlet. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the items available there were not marked up. For example, common Funko Pops were just $10.00! There are also two different sized shopping baskets, one to carry and one that has wheels to roll around. You know, in case you want to go crazy.

The Star Wars section did not disappoint and that's what I want to focus on and share with you today. The theme for the Star Wars section at this Funko Shop is Tatooine whereas the theme at the Everett, Washington location is Hoth. I think it's fun that the shops aren't completely identical although I do wish I got to see the Wampa and Tauntaun Funko Pop statues in person! I really do love the characters that were included with this theme though and the music they had playing from the Star Wars films was excellent. I felt right at home!

There were several items that I hadn't ever seen before including the Kylo/Ben Water Bottle (which I literally thought was Anakin/Kylo at first glance) that I instantly placed in my shopping basket, and the kid's Rey t-shirt. It was also bittersweet seeing a Smuggler's Bounty box available to purchase. It had a good run but I'll forever miss that Star Wars subscription box. I also went home with The Armorer from The Mandalorian and Cal Kestis w/BD-1 from Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order Funko Pops since I haven't yet added either to my collection. Yay, for fun finds!

The statues and photo opportunities were super fun and extremely detailed. I'm really glad it wasn't too crowded so that I could get the photos that I wanted. There were times where we had to wait for a group or two before us to get a photo but it didn't take long at all. If you're able to be patient at Disneyland, you'll do just fine here. There are also sales associates throughout the entire shop who will help you get the perfect shot and, of course, answer any questions you might have. Everyone we spoke with was very helpful and friendly!

Everything about this shop looked very aesthetically pleasing and was easy to browse. We took our time shopping and enjoyed all there was to see. From what I remember, we got through the entire store in a little over two hours so it's definitely something that's doable in a day. I love that it's an experience that fans of all ages can enjoy and whether you're going with your family, friends or even on a date like we did, you'll have fun!

It's completely free to go to the Funko Store and it's open everyday from 11am - 8pm. It gets super busy on weekends so the earlier you get there, the better! I recommend the ShackBurger, Crinkle-Cut Fries, and the Cookies & Cream Shake. The Chicken Dog is also amazing, Jason loves it too!

  1. We had such a fun time at Funko Hollywood also. My daughter loved designing (two) of her very own custom pops. The tatooine theme was so awesome in the Star Wars section, and there is definitely something for everyone in pop fandom in this giant store. Loved seeing all the photos of you and Jason.

    1. That's so awesome! I'd love to see photos of how her custom Funko Pops turned out if you have any. And thanks so much, glad you liked the post!
