Star Wars Bound: Padmé Amidala (Meadow Picnic Dress)

Star Wars Bound: Padmé Amidala Meadow Picnic Dress | Anakin and His Angel

Attack of the Clones will always hold a special place in my heart because I met my husband Jason in line for the midnight showing on May 15, 2002. Although I was introduced to Star Wars through the Old Trilogy, the Prequels really doubled my love for Star Wars so I've always been quite fond of them. To celebrate the film's eighteenth anniversary, I put together my first Padmé Amidala Bound. While I would have loved to shoot these photos on Batuu, I'm glad I didn't wait to do that because I do really love how they turned out. I think this particular setting really made the outfit come to life.

I knew I wanted to do a Padmé Bound but I wasn't sure which outfit to choose. But one day while browsing the sale items on ASOS, I came upon this lovely $10 dress (which is now unfortunately sold out) and my mind was made up. I feel like it is the perfect modern-day approach to the beautiful dress she wears while picnicking with Anakin on Naboo. The wonderful thing about this piece is that it's something that I can absolutely wear again during the Spring and Summer months.

Accessories were very important for this look because they needed to convey who I was and compliment the dress. I opted for a floral crown and synthetic hair buns that are durable enough to stick bobby pins into for proper placement. I think they worked out perfectly! Since I'm such a huge Anakin and Padmé fan, I very much wanted Anakin to be part of this outfit. I decided on a blue Kyber Crystal necklace from my friends over at Punch It Chewie Press. They have an awesome collection of colors that you should absolutely check out! Lastly, I wore a pair of nude heels to prevent the dress from dragging since I'm such a shorty. If you're interested, the accessories I mentioned are all listed below.

  1. What a clever idea! I've been experimenting with Disneybounding/Casual Cosplay recently, but it never occurred to me to approach this intricate costume like that. Your post was quite the "Aha!" moment for me. Thanks for sharing! :-D
