Star Wars Bound: Padmé & Leia

Star Wars Bound: Padmé Amidala & Princess Leia | Anakin and His Angel

I celebrated May the 4th at Disneyland this year and decided to style a modern Padmé Amidala outfit with, of course, just as much dramatic flair. Little did I know that my friend Ashleigh was bounding as Princess Leia that same day! It was so perfect, that we decided to do a mother and daughter shoot on Batuu. Be sure to check out Ashleigh's post on her Instagram to see more shots of her outfit and learn more about the pieces she used to style it!

As you can see, things got a little silly! I just love the way Ashleigh styled her Leia-inspired top with the multi-colored, and very Princess-like, skirt. The colors are so unique and complimented her new Princess Leia lightsaber so perfectly. We had such a fun time hanging out on Batuu! If you're interested, you can see more from this special day in a vlog created by Ash and her fiance' Bryan on their YouTube channel, Always Believe.

WHAT I WORE:
Butterfly Sleeve Bodysuit: Amazon
Suspender Flare Skirt: Unique Vintage
Black Mask: Studio3DX
Queen Amidala Patch: JediKaylin
Headband: Nordstrom Rack
Gold Chain Necklace: Target | Similar
Rey Boots: Po-Zu

Orginally, I had ordered the red suspender flare skirt just because it really caught my eye. It wasn't until after receiving it that I quickly thought of a Queen Amidala ensemble while trying to plan something for my friend Bella's Star Wars Style Challene. To celebrate Star Wars day, she has chosen a theme for every day this week and today's prompt is Padmé Amidala. It's been really fun to see the looks everyone has been coming up with and I'm happy to be able to participate today!

In continuing with the details of my outfit, the black mock neck bodysuit with butterfly sleeves really created that dramatic shape that gives off that royal-esque vibe and it paired extremely well with the skirt. I used fabric glue (Aleene's Fabric Fusion) to attach the gorgeous patch to the mask and accessorized with a few gold and black pieces, and BOOM! - I was ready for the day! Be sure to take a peek at the list above to see where I picked up everything from if you're curious.
